Natural Moisturizer with dōTERRA Lavender
Finding a moisturizer that is perfect for your skin can be tricky. Some moisturizers are too tacky, thin, streaky, or simply don't work for your skin type. Combat these problems by making your own customizable moisturizer in just a few steps. This DIY contains Lavender oil, which is a great oil to use with any skin type, and leaves skin nourished while soothing away minor skin irritations.*
Ingredients
⅓ cup aloe vera gel (do not use juice or aloe from a plant as the cream won't whip properly)
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
2 tablespoons jojoba oil
½ tablespoon beeswax
10 drops Lavender oil
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, gently heat the almond and jojoba oils with the beeswax.
- Once melted, transfer your mixture to a deep mixing bowl.Leave to cool for an hour or until the mixture reaches room temperature.
- Slowly add the aloe vera gel and Lavender oil as you blend the mixture with a hand blender.
- Continue adding aloe until you have reached your desired consistency.
- Store in an airtight container and apply to skin liberally.

Postpartum Soothing Spray with dōTERRA Oils
Childbirth is one of the most amazing and taxing efforts the human body can perform. For many women, recovery after labor and delivery involves tender skin, especially for those who experience tearing or receive an episiotomy. Warm water sitz baths and other sprays are often recommended to help alleviate some of this discomfort.
This natural postpartum spray includes Lavender oil which can be used to soothe occasional skin irritations. It also includes Frankincense oil which comes from the Boswellia species of tree and has been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese health practices. These oils work together to promote a soothing environment.
Ingredients
6 tablespoons witch hazel
4 tablespoons filtered water
5 drops Lavender oil
5 drops Frankincense oil
Directions
- Combine witch hazel and water in a small glass spray bottle. The bottle pictured here is much larger, to demonstrate a larger portion.
- Add Lavender oil and Frankincense oil.
- Shake well and apply to perineum, or spray onto feminine hygiene pads for a cooling effect.
Natural Air Freshener using dōTERRA Oils
Commercial air fresheners can bring many unnatural aromas into your home. There are, however, completely safe and natural alternatives to help keep your home refreshed. Make your own air freshener that has only two ingredients—baking soda and essential oils!
Ingredients:
¼ cup baking soda
5–6 drops of your favorite essential oil
Instructions:
- Put ¼ cup baking soda into a small Mason jar. Add 5–6 drops of your favorite doTERRA essential oil or blend.
Recommended Essential Oils: doTERRA Balance, Cassia, Geranium, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Lemon, doTERRA On Guard, Purify, or Wild Orange. - Put piece of fabric on jar and seal with jar band.
- To keep an area smelling fresh, place jar on a solid surface and shake often to activate the fresh scent.
- If scent starts to fade, simply add 2–3 drops of essential oil to jar.
Cuticle Cream with dōTERRA Oils
Cold weather can be tough on skin and cuticles. Making a homemade cuticle cream is a great way to bring moisture and health back to nails. It can also be used on hands, lips, or anywhere with dry spots.
- In small glass container, combine shea butter, beeswax, and Fractionated Coconut Oil
- Place in saucepan with 1–1 ½ inches of boiling water
- Stir ingredients for 5–10 minutes until combined
Tip: Use a popsicle stick for easy cleanup. - Once melted, remove from heat and let rest for 3 minutes
- Add essential oils and stir
- Pour into container and let harden 2–3 hours
- To use, just apply a small amount to cuticles and rub until absorbed.
After Sun Soothing Spray with dōTERRA Oils
Sun exposure is good, but too much of it can cause irritation. Next time you deal with discomfort from too much sun, try this after-sun soothing spray with essential oils.
- Combine all ingredients in glass spray bottle.
- Shake to combine.
Eye Pillow with dōTERRA Lavender
What you need
- Sew the fabric together and leave one short side open for filling, then fill the center with lavender flowers and flax seed.
- Place the Lavender essential oil on the inside of the pillow as well.
- To finish, close the open side with a sewing machine or by hand stitching.
