The Rosemary oil in this mixture conditions and strengthens, while Ylang Ylang leaves locks looking full, smooth, and silky. Whether you use it every day or only in the dry winter months, this leave-in conditioner provides great support for hair that’s feeling stiff and overworked.

Ingredients
3 parts distilled water
2½ tablespoons vegetable glycerin
1 tablespoon Fractionated Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon rose water
2 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
3 drops Rosemary essential oil

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in an eight-ounce glass spray bottle.
  2. Shake well and spray over damp hair after your normal shampoo and conditioner routine.
  3. Do not rinse. Style hair as usual.

Ingredients
⅓ cup rose water
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
5 drops Ylang Ylang oil
5 drops Sandalwood oil
3 drops Lavender oil
4 drops Grapefruit oil
 
Note: You can purchase rose water at most health food stores in the soap and hygiene aisle.
 
Instructions
  1. In fine-mist glass spray bottle, add rose water, vanilla extract, and essential oils. Add more or less essential oils depending on your preference.
  2. Shake and spray on hair as desired.

*Please note that citrus essential oils are photosensitive and can lighten your hair if exposed to UV rays.

Marshmallow root and apple cider vinegar are natural detanglers and essential oils add additional benefits to help keep your hair healthy and beautiful.
 
Ingredients
12 ounce or larger spray bottle
1 ½ cups distilled water
3 tablespoons marshmallow root
½ cup apple cider vinegar
5 drops Rosemary oil
5 drops Patchouli oil
5 drops Geranium oil
5 drops Melaleuca oil
 
Instructions
  1. Boil water and marshmallow root in small pan.
  2. Reduce heat and let simmer 20–30 minutes.
  3. Let cool slightly and strain through cheesecloth or wire strainer.
  4. While warm, pour into bottle and add conditioner, apple cider vinegar, and essential oils.
  5. Shake until combined.
  6. To use, spray generous amount on wet hair and comb through.

Scalp Buildup Cleanser with dōTERRA Oils

One of the best ways to use essential oils is to help your hair and scalp stay clean and healthy. This apple cider vinegar rinse helps restore and balance the natural pH level of your hair help, and gets rid of extra build-up without stripping your hair of its natural oils.


Combined with Rosemary, Lemon, and Grapefruit oils, the following mixture cleanses and refreshes hair, making it soft, shiny, and easy to work with.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
8 tablespoons water
8 drops Rosemary oil
6 drops Lemon oil
4 drops Grapefruit oil

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small glass bowl and stir.
  2. Comb through dry hair. The acids in the mixture remove any oil, dirt or sulfate buildup naturally.
  3. Allow the mixture to sit in place for about 20 minutes, then rinse hair in shower and continue with your normal shampoo and conditioner routine.

Enjoy your thoroughly cleansed and rejuvenated locks.

Dealing with dry skin? We’ve got you covered with our Lavender Eucalyptus Lotion Bars. These lotion bars are not only simple to make, but do wonders for dry skin. Made with beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter—plus being infused with doTERRA Lavender and Eucalyptus essential oils—will leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized throughout the day.

These lotion bars are super simple to make, provide a great opportunity for a DIY Make 'n Take class, and make perfect gifts for holidays, showers, weddings, etc.

If you thinking about gifting these lotion bars, the packaging you choose can be an added bonus for whomever you decide to gift them to. A few different packaging ideas include: an organza bag with a homemade label attached, wrapping the bar in burlap and twine with a sprig of lavender.

We chose to do Lavender and Eucalyptus, and though the combinations are limitless, here are a few scents we think you might also enjoy:

Ingredients (Makes 4–6 bars)

  • 1 cup beeswax
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup shea butter
  • 10–15 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 10–15 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
    • Dried lavender and eucalyptus (optional)

Directions

  • Combine and melt (microwave or double boiler) beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter. 
  • Add Lavender and Eucalyptus essential oils.
  • Pour or spoon into mold of choice.
    • Note: If using dried ingredients, sprinkle into mold beforehand.

Herbal Hairspray with dōTERRA Oils

Making your own hairspray is easy with essential oils and only takes a few simple ingredients you already have at home. It can easily be customizable to your favorite essential oils and to your preferred hold.
 
Ingredients
1 cup water
4 teaspoons sugar 
2 drops Geranium oil
2 drops Lavender oil
2 drops Rosemary oil
2 drops Clary Sage oil
 
Tip: Use more or less sugar depending on how strong you want the hold to be.
 
Note: Feel free to customize the essential oils to your preference. You can use one or all of the essential oils listed above. However, be careful using citrus oils as they can lighten your hair if exposed to UV light.
 
Instructions
  1. In saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring heat to boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool.
  2. Pour essential oil into 8-ounce glass fine mist spray bottle and add cooled sugar water. 
  3. Use as you would any other hairspray.

For light hair:

¼ cup arrowroot powder
2 drops Lavender essential oil
2 drops Rosemary essential oil
2 drops Peppermint essential oil

For dark hair:

2 tablespoons arrowroot powder
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 drops Lavender essential oil
2 drops Rosemary essential oil
2 drops Peppermint essential oil

 

Directions:

  1. Put arrowroot powder, cocoa powder (if using), and essential oils into food processor.
  2. Pulse until well combined.
  3. Store in glass jar.
  4. To use, apply powder with old make-up brush to roots and oily parts of hair.

Rosemary Spearmint Soap DIY with dōTERRA Oils

Ingredients:

Disclaimer: Although these images show fresh herbs in the soap, we highly recommend only using dried herbs. The fresh herbs (although beautiful) turn the soap brown after a few days. 

Directions:

  1. Cut off the amount of soap base you want to use and place it into a microwave safe bowl.
  2. Melt the soap into liquid form in increments of 30 seconds.
  3. Add a handful of dried hebrs to the soap mold. 
  4. Add Spearmint and Rosemary essential oils.
  5. Mix together and pour into molds.
  6. Let it sit for an hour.
  7. Remove the soap from the mold.

(The soap should be good for a few months.)
