Raspberry Body Polish with dōTERRA Basil

Raspberry Body Polish with dōTERRA Basil

Much like a facial, body polishes (also known as body scrubs) are an exfoliating and moisturizing treatment for your skin. A body polish is applied before a shower and then rinsed off. When it comes to which product to use, natural ingredients have so much to offer. This polish recipe includes Basil oil, which, when applied topically, can act as a cooling and relaxing agent for your skin. Honey is used in this mixture as a natural purifying and soothing component, while brown sugar and raspberries help gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin.

Ingredients
2 cups raspberries
1 drop Basil oil
¼ cup honey
1 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the berries, Basil essential oil, and honey in a blender. Pulse on low until a paste forms.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl and stir in brown sugar.
  3. In the shower, before you turn on the water, apply the scrub with your hands. Work in circular motions from your feet up.
  4. Rinse with warm water and follow with moisturizer. You can also use this mixture as a mask by leaving it on the body for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Put the remainder in a sealed container. Refridgerate and use within 7–10 days.

Tip: Cranberries are a great substitute for raspberries.

Breath Spray with dōTERRA Oils

Breath Spray with dōTERRA Oils

One of the many benefits of essential oils is their ability to add unique flavor to everyday life. Essential oils taste great in recipes, but can also be used to freshen your breath. Create your own natural breath spray with these two easy steps and carry the power of these oils with you wherever you go.

A few oils we suggest for this DIY are Peppermint, Spearmint, and Cinnamon Bark. Each of these oils has internal benefits and provides a tasty refreshing burst of flavor.

Depending on your preference, each oil provides something unique. Peppermint essential oil has a clean, fresh and minty flavor, while Spearmint oil is minty, slightly fruity, and softer than Peppermint, and Cinnamon oil takes on a warmer, spicy flavor. Try all three, or get creative and make your own combination with other oils safe for internal use.

Ingredients
5 mL glass spray bottle
3–5 drops essential oil
Distilled or filtered water

Instructions

  1. Place 3–5 drops of essential oil into your spray bottle
  2. Fill the remainder of the bottle with distilled water
  3. Shake well to combine and spritz in mouth for a refreshing burst of flavor
