Garbage Disposal Refreshers with dōTERRA Oils
Don’t live with stinky garbage disposals any more. These Tangerine and Spearmint Garbage Disposal Refreshers clean and deodorize your garbage disposal in one easy use.
Ingredients:
2 cups baking soda
1 cup salt
½ cup water
¼ cup liquid castile soap (any scent)
15 drops Tangerine or Wild Orange oil
15 drops Spearmint oil
Instructions:
- Combine baking soda and salt into bowl.
- Add castile soap and essential oil into mixture.
- Add water 1 tablespoon at a time while stirring with hands until it forms into the consistency of "damp sand." It should stay together when you press it together. If you add too much water just add some more baking soda and salt until the consistency is right.
- Pack mixture tightly into a small silicone mold. If you don’t have a silicone mold, just grab a tablespoon measurement device and scoop packed spoonfuls onto parchment paper.
- Let mixture dry for 24 hours or until hard.
- Put into glass jar and use the next time you do dishes! Just place 1–2 refreshers into the garbage disposal and turn it on. You will immediately smell the refreshing and cleansing aroma.
Hair Perfume with dōTERRA Oils
- In fine-mist glass spray bottle, add rose water, vanilla extract, and essential oils. Add more or less essential oils depending on your preference.
- Shake and spray on hair as desired.
*Please note that citrus essential oils are photosensitive and can lighten your hair if exposed to UV rays.
Milk Bath with dōTERRA Oils
Ingredients
1 cup Epsom salt
½ cup baking soda
½ cup corn starch
2 cups powdered milk
¼ cup coconut oil
20 drops of one or more of the following essential oils:
Dried lavender (optional)
Directions
Combine all ingredients, stirring until evenly combined.
DIY Baby Powder with dōTERRA Oils
- Mix well and put in shaker style bottle.
- If you don't have finely ground oats, combine ingredients in blender and pulse until finely ground.
Hair Detangler with dōTERRA Oils
- Boil water and marshmallow root in small pan.
- Reduce heat and let simmer 20–30 minutes.
- Let cool slightly and strain through cheesecloth or wire strainer.
- While warm, pour into bottle and add conditioner, apple cider vinegar, and essential oils.
- Shake until combined.
- To use, spray generous amount on wet hair and comb through.

You can purchase white coconut milk soap base and Maca powder from your local health-food store or online.
Ingredients
Soap
4–6 squares white coconut milk soap base
4 drops Grapefruit oil
Natural dye
¼ teaspoon Maca powder
Instructions
- Chop soap base into rough cubes and place in a microwave safe bowl. Melt soap using a double boiler on the stove, stirring occasionally. Or, melt it in microwave at 30 second intervals.
- Remove from heat and add in natural coloring and Grapefruit essential oil. Mix well.
- Pour soap into silicon molds. Depending on your mold, this recipe should make about 8–10 letters.
- Place in fridge or freezer to allow soap to harden.
- Let sit for 10 minutes after removing from fridge.
- Remove soap from silicon molds.
- Enjoy at bath time.
- When not in use, keep in a sealed container in the bathroom to preserve the aroma.
Tip: For different colors, instead of Maca powder, try ¼ teaspoon beet powder for a pink/red, or a ¼ teaspoon turmeric for a yellow/orange
Scalp Buildup Cleanser with dōTERRA Oils
One of the best ways to use essential oils is to help your hair and scalp stay clean and healthy. This apple cider vinegar rinse helps restore and balance the natural pH level of your hair help, and gets rid of extra build-up without stripping your hair of its natural oils.
Combined with Rosemary, Lemon, and Grapefruit oils, the following mixture cleanses and refreshes hair, making it soft, shiny, and easy to work with.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
8 tablespoons water
8 drops Rosemary oil
6 drops Lemon oil
4 drops Grapefruit oil
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small glass bowl and stir.
- Comb through dry hair. The acids in the mixture remove any oil, dirt or sulfate buildup naturally.
- Allow the mixture to sit in place for about 20 minutes, then rinse hair in shower and continue with your normal shampoo and conditioner routine.

Dishwasher Detergent Tablets with dōTERRA Oils
Make your own natural dishwasher tablets by following this simple step-by-step recipe. This DIY contains the cleansing power of doTERRA On Guard® and Grapefruit oils, leaving your dishes clean and smelling fresh.
Ingredients
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1 tablespoon doTERRA On Guard Cleaner Concentrate
5 drops Grapefruit oil
Instructions
- Put baking soda, citric acid, doTERRA On Guard Cleaner Concentrate, and Grapefruit oil in a mixing bowl. Mix together until the mixture is an even consistency.
- Place in silicon molds and let sit for four hours. Remove tabs.
- Store in an airtight container.
- Use in dishwasher in place of store-bought dishwasher tablets.
Tip: Adding one cup white vinegar to the rinsing agent compartment in your dishwasher will help ensure that your glassware comes out of the dishwasher sparkling!

Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
Ingredients
¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
½ cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
5 drops Cinnamon Bark oil
5 drops Ginger oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon allspice
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl until combined.
- Store in an airtight container.
- To use, massage over skin for 30 seconds or until sugar dissolves, then rinse with warm water and pat skin dry.
Gingerbread Bath Bombs
Ingredients
½ cup baking soda
¼ cup epsom salt
¼ cup citric acid
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoons fractionated coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon molasses
5 drops Cinnamon Bark oil
5 drops Ginger oil
Instructions
- Whisk dry ingredients in a bowl until combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine wet ingredients and mix.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix well. Mixture should be relatively dry but still moldable.
- If the mixture is too moist the bath bombs will lose their fizziness, so spritz with water carefully if the mixture is too dry to hold shape.
- Pack mixture into molds and allow to dry for at least 24 hours before removing.
- Store in a dry place until use.

Throat Drops with dōTERRA Oils
Homemade and natural throat drops are surprisingly easy to make, and useful in soothing dry and itchy throats. This recipe includes Lemon and Ginger oils, but feel free to try Spearmint, Cinnamon, Clove, or Peppermint oils.
Ingredients
¾ cup water
¾ cup honey
3 drops Lemon oil
1 drop Ginger oil
1 tablespoon ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) powder
Instructions
- Add honey to water. Heat over medium heat in a saucepan until mixture begins to boil. Clip a candy thermometer to the side of pan where it will not touch the bottom or side. Continue boiling until water mixture reaches 300°F on the thermometer, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat immediately and allow mixture to cool for 5–10 minutes, or until the consistency becomes syrupy.
- Add Lemon and Ginger oil, stirring to combine.
- Dust candy mold with ascorbic acid powder. Pour honey mixture into molds and allow to completely cool.
- Remove from molds and dust again with ascorbic acid powder to keep the drops from sticking together once stored.
- Store in an airtight container.
